Achiuwa Promises To Make Basketball Tourney Yearly Event
The sponsor of the just concluded Giving Back to Society Basketball competition in Port Harcourt, Precious Achiuwa, has promised that the tournament will be a yearly event.
According to him, he wants to make the competition a yearly event because he wants to encourage others in the game, adding that it is a thing of joy coming back home to encourage others in the game he loves so much.
Achiuwa made the promise last Sunday in an exclusive interview with Tidesports, shortly after the final game of the competition at the basketball court in Port Harcourt.
“I am so excited for the tournament because this is where I started the game I love so much.
“Sponsorship of the competition is to showed how important is the game to me.
“So I want to use this as a point of contact to others who want to take the game as career to come and showcase their talent.
“The competition is going to be a yearly event,”Achiuwa said.
The Toronto Raptors players used the medium to advise the youths to take the game very seriously because there are lots of benefits in the game.
“This is the game I love so much so, I want others to take the game very seriously because the game pays.
“I am here today sponsoring the competition because of the love and benefits I have derived from the game” he stated.
He thanked teams that participated for honouring the invitation for the tournament.
