Councillor Seeks Rundele Traditional Stool Upgrade
The people of Rundele Clan in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have appealed to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, to upgrade their traditional stool to a First Class status.
The Councillor representing Ward 7 in the Emohua Legislative Assembly, Hon Emenike Wokama, made the call during the inauguration of Eze Damian Ejiohuo, as the Paramount Ruler of Rundele clan and Rundele N’ Ogbo 11.
According to the Councillor, who is also a staunch member of the Grassroot Development initiative (GDI), the appeal has become necessary because Rundele is one of the ancient communities in Rivers State.
He noted that the people of Rundele will be grateful if the State Government recognises Eze Damain Ejiohuo as a First Class traditional ruler in Rivers State.
Wokama also appealed to all sons and daughters of Rundele to come back home and make it great again.
In his speech, Chairman, Rundele Council of Chiefs, High Chief Marcus Atata, said since the death of Eze S. I. Alete, the first Paramount Ruler of Rumudele, who died in 2007, Rundele had since then been without a king because of disputes relating to succession, adding that the people are happy to say that the struggle is now over.
He noted that it is the turn of Mgbuelia to provide the next Paramount Ruler and Eze Rundele N’ Ogbo 11, Eze Damian Ejiohuo, is Paramount Ruler.
On his part, the Eze Rundele N’ Ogbo 11 Coronation Committee Chairman, Elder Godson Eze Chinnah, on behalf of Rundele clan thanked everyone for gracing the event.
He said the community will witness development and growth under the ruler ship of Eze Ejiohuo.
In his speech, Eze Ejiohuo advised the people to be peaceful and pleaded with anyone who is holding any property belonging to the community to return it for peace and progress of the community.
