Banigo, Kamalu, Others Attend Kumuyi’s Book Promotion In PH
The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has described Pastor Williams Kumuyi as a true servant of God whose efforts towards the attainment of global evangelism and winning souls for Christ remain his key interest.
The deputy governor said this at the promotion of the book – Kumuyi: The Defender of Faith, written by Oyewale, Segun Babatope, Emeka Izeze and Tunde Opeibi, in Port Harcourt.
Represented by the Director, Documentation, Office of the Deputy Governor, Rivers State, Mr Paul Damgbor, Banigo noted that the Rivers State Government under the leadership of Chief Nyesom Wike, appreciates the works and prayers of Dr. W. F. Kumuyi, and expressed readiness to assist the church by providing the much needed conducive environment to carry out her activities which are targeted at the evangelisation of communities for transformation and peaceful co-existence.
Among the dignitaries, who graced the event which was organised by the Rivers State chapter of the International Friendship League (IFL) led by Dr. Israel Mkpaoro, were the Rivers State Commissioner for Finance, Barrister Isaac Kamalu;member representing Andoni/Opobo Nkoro Federal Constituency, Hon. A. Abiante; CEO of Eggheads Tax Practitioners (chairman of the occasion).
Others include, Pastor Ezekiel Williams; former MD of The Guardian Newspapers,Pastor Emeka Izeze; Rivers State South-South Coordinator of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Andrew Osagie; and his wife, Sis Holly Osagie; and retired Manager, Nigerian Agip Oil Company, Pastor Andrew Umoru; Bro Friday Obari; Prof Jasper Jumbo.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
