Niger Tornadoes’ Fans Attack Lobi Players, Officials
The ugly side of Nigeria football rears out its head at Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna, Kaduna state , as Niger Tornadoes’ fans attacked players and officials of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi.
The incident happened during Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL, Match Day 30, between Lobi stars and Niger Tornadoes played at Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
Niger Tornadoes’ have been banished from playing their home games in Minna to Kaduna over security breaches during home matches.
Shortly, when the players were about to return to the stadium to continue with the second half, some hoodlums suspected to be fans of Niger Tornadoes descended on officials and players of Lobi stars.
They inflicted serious injuries on them using clubs, knives and broken bottles.
They also beat the centre referee to pulp and the match was abandoned.
Security officials attached to the match watched helplessly as the hoodlums beat up the visiting team officials and players.
