Coach Calls For Grassroots Football Competition Sponsorship
The Head Coach of Brovo Football Academy in Port Harcourt, Chigozie Onudi, has called on corporate organisations and well meaning individuals to organise and promote grassroots football competitions in Rivers State.
He stated that grassroots football tournaments if organised quarterly would engage youths meaningfully and consequently reduce social vices.
Onudi made the assertion on Wednesday in an exclusive interview with Tidesports at the Joseph Yobo, mini Stadium, D/line, Port Harcourt.
He used the forum to commend the New Creation Ambassador Church, in the State for sponsoring the ongoing Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) football competition in the state and advised other churches to emulate the footsteps of the church.
“I do know that some of the youths that are into cultism and other nefarious activities are good football players.
If they harnesse their talents and groom them properly ,they will become good players and better indiviual, in future” Onudi said.
