Insecurity: Ariolu Urges Christians To Pray For Nigeria, Wike
Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barrister George Ariolu, has lambasted the security architecture of the nation for their inaction to secure the country.
He said there was no guarantee for safety of lives and properties, following countless terrorist attacks occasioned by failed promises of the Federal Government to tackle the menace that has visited parts of the country.
Ariolu, who chastised the APC-led Federal Government for not locking horns with bandits and terrorists, described the recent massacre of Owo worshippers in Ogun State as unfortunate.
The chairman made this jaw-breaking remark while addressing congregation at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Rumueme in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, last Sunday.
Represented by the Council Secretary, Ije Okabie, Ariolu urged Christians to pray vehemently for God to restore peace in the nation.
Similarly, he encouraged Christians to pray for Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, who has consistently fought for the unity and oneness of Nigeria.
According to him, Wike contrary to opinions of naysayers has proven beyond doubt, his love for Rivers people and Nigerians at large.
In his sermon, Ordinance Samuel Ugwanyi, urged Christians to be worthy stewards of God.
He further advised Christians to use their God-given talents and abilities for the service of God and humanity, for the benefit of mankind and to the glory of God.
Also speaking, the Rector, Ven Chris Akawor, in a statement to the congregation, urged Christians to be security conscious.
He said Christians should ensure that they raise alarm when they suspect anyone around them, urging them to report suspects to security agencies.
Speaking further, he challenged the congregation to go for their permanent voters’ card (PVC) registration in order to install God-fearing leaders who will work for the overall interest and unity of the country.
Ariolu during the service was presented with an award of philanthropist by the Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF) of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Rumueme, in recognition of his numerous contributions to God’s work and humanity.
The award presentation was part of activities marking the 2022 Father’s Day celebration in the church.
Also awarded was the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr Chidi Lloyd, who was represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Bright Jossy Elendu, and the Paramount Ruler of Iriebe Community, Eze Jeremiah Worenwu.
