Assembly Aspirant Lauds PDP’s Screening Panel, Stakeholders For Transparency
Bayelsa State House of Assembly aspirant for Ogbia Constituency one on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and son of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Eng. Azibalamawal Jonathan at the weekend was among aspirants who scaled through the screening exercise carried out by the party’s aspirants screening panel for the forthcoming primaries.
Azibalamawal, who spoke with newsmen shortly after participating in the exercise which held in Yenagoa, the state capital, commended the screening panel and stakeholders for their display of transparency through out the process.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that he flies the party’s flag higher if he emerges winner in the primaries slated for May.
The Otuoke-born young and vibrant entrepreneur applauded the state Governor Senator Douye Diri, his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and the PDP on continued efforts in bequeathing enduring legacies and Democratic dividends to the state, just as he noted that he has been an active and courageous member of the PDP.
He stressed that it was even more merrier, that following the transparent standard of the exercise, he was amongst those whom the panel screened and issued certificates which signifies success.
Azibalamawal also mentioned that from the conception of his aspiration to vie for the legislative position through the screening exercise, the party stakeholders have kept their doors open for him for regular consultations.
A statement issued by the campaign team of the aspirant quoted him as saying that he would leverage on his expertise and entrepreneurial skills to contribute more towards the growth and development of Bayelsa state and Nigeria in general when elected by delegates as the party’s standard bearer and finally wins the general election, come 2023.
The statement also reads in part: “I humbly plead with party delegates to support and vote for me in the forthcoming primaries. If I win the primaries coming up in May, next month and the subsequent general elections, come 2023, I believe that it would be a previledge to continue contributing my quota towards the development of the state and the nation. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is such a wonderful family. The screening process was so transparent.”
