‘Steadfastness, Hallmark For National Integration, Dev’
A political scientist in Rivers State and Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Godwin Pepple, has said that steadfastness in politics remains the hallmark of national integration and development.
Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt recently, on the PDP’s preparation for next year’s general elections, Pepple explained that when one is aggrieved over minor misunderstanding, the next thing you hear or see is the person has joined another political party, this is funny and needs to be halted.
According to him, “What we forget to understand is that the place I decided to be part of, are they ready to accommodate me?.
We must shun the idea of running away from responsibility of keeping the flag of the party flying more higher”. Leaving the party to another does not in any way solve the problems, instead it increases same”.
Pepple also admonished all the PDP faithfuls, stakeholders and well wishers to remain focussed, consistent and steadfast in all party’s activities ahead of the 2023 general elections.
“But when you remain focused, steadfast, supportive and patiently wait for your turn, when positions are zoned to your ward, you will be fished out and recognised,” he said.
Pepple urged everyone to remain committed ahead of 2023 elections as there are plans to consolidate on the gains achieved which will be unveiled to ensure that all the party members benefit from the dividends of democracy.
On the state of Opobo/Nkoro PDP, Pepple said his administration was able to restore peace to the party in the area which, he said almost collapsed before now, stating that God played a vital role by restoring the eluded unity, love and cooperation, lacking among members who were aggrieved.
“ I enjoin all the members to be resolute and proactive in the day to day affairs of the party in their various wards for a better future.
Let us work together in peace, love, unity and harmony which could give us the Presidency in 2023,” he submitted.
