GEWC Holds Crusade In Bayelsa
Ahead of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Greater Evangelism World Crusade (GEWC) Church, the leadership of evangelical group has revealed that a series of events including a crusade in Bayelsa State are lined up.
International Director of the church, Pastor Isaac Olori made his disclosure at the Creek House, Bayelsa State Government House, during a courtesy visit to the Governor, Senator Douye Diri.
According to him, “We felt that we should come and intimate His Excellency on the events that will be taking place. We have a series of events, series of crusades in cities and we are coming to Bayelsa in the month of March from the 4th to the 9th. We are going to have a crusade in Opolo Central Secondary School and we want to invite the governor and his team particularly to that crusade, with the theme, Divine Visitation.”
Olori, who eulogised the sterling qualities of Sen. Diri, also described him as evidence of “divine visitation”, noting that the governor had in the past identified with the church and listed some of his numerous donations to the church and his participation in the activities of same.
He said, “ The theme of the crusade is Divine Visitation. I know that Bayelsa is remarkable for divine visitation. You are the evidence of the divine visitation, so we are looking to another time that God will visit the land. We also want to use the opportunity to appreciate you. You have been supportive to our ministry. You have supported our project at Opolo, the headquarters here. We also want to thank you for the support you’ve been giving to one of us, the Chief Judge of the state who is one of our pastors, your support has made her job easy”.
The evangelical leader used the opportunity to among other things, to invite Governor, Diri to handle the closing ceremony of the events marking the crusade’s 50th anniversary on September 11, 2022.
Addressing the visitors, the governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri thanked the evangelical visitors and promised to look into the matters presented to him, while pledging his support for the activities of the 50th anniversary of the church.
High point of the visit was exchange of gifts by both the International Director of Greater Evangelism World Crusade Church and the Bayelsa State governor.
