NUJ Condoles With Sultan On Danbaba’s Demise
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto State Chapter, last Thursday, condoled with the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, on the demise of Alhaji Hassan Danbaba, Magajin Garin Sokoto.
It would be recalled that late Danbaba, the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA) Board Chairman, died on Saturday in Kaduna State.
The deceased, also the grandson of late Sardauna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the former Premier of Northern Nigeria, had since been buried according to Islamic rights in Sokoto.
The state chapter of NUJ, in a statement jointly signed by Mr Dalhatu Abdullahi and Muhammad Bello, the Chairman and Secretary respectively, described the demise as a great loss not only to Nigeria but the global community.
“It is with heavy hearts and sublime submission to the divine will of Almighty Allah that we received the news of the demise of the Magajin Garin Sokoto.
“On behalf of all working Journalists in Sokoto state, the NUJ Sokoto Council, wishes to use this medium to condole with the Sultan, Sokoto state government, his immediate family and the entire people of the country for this great loss,” he said.
