Co-Operative Set To Empower 40,000 SMEs In Rivers
A group known as iEBS-Matrixx Co-operative says it is putting in place modalities to empower over 40,000 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Rivers State.
Towards this end, the cooperative has concluded plans to keep members abreast with the level of effort and business loan disbursement arrangements made so far.
Making this known recently to The Tide in Port Harcourt, President of the cooperative, Dr. Larry Goodwill Ajiola, said the group will soon hold a meeting to intimate members with all they need to know about the loan.
While assuring that the cooperative will not relent in pushing for the disbursement, he said the executive would not want to leave anyone in the dark concerning the stage it has reached.
Ajiola noted that the group has been able to overcome the challenges that delayed its original plan.
According to him, the meeting would, among other issues, handle the registration of new members, provide information on grant and loan, and address the attitude of members towards the group.
“The aim of the Co-operative is to empower and better the businesses of members.
“Co-operatives help to build the businesses of members, knowing that expansion of businesses is better achieved with Co-operatives than as individuals”, he said.
