Rivers Weightlifting Coach Pledges Better Outing For 2022
Assistant Coach of Rivers State Weightlifting Association, Mike Onyekachi has said that the body will make a mark in the 2022 calendar year, as it prepares for the line up of annual activities with commitment and discipline.
Coach Oyekachi disclosed this at the weekend, during an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, there are lined up of programmes for the athletes to prepare for, and the team will leave no stone unturned as they prepare for better outings this sporting year.
” Most especially, the National Sports Festival (NSF) scheduled to hold later this year, in Delta State, the team has to start now to get ready for the sports fiesta which is the major sporting event in the country. Early preparation will save us a lot of stress,” Oyekachi said.
He maintained that the athletes will double their efforts in their prepare for the task ahead, saying that early Preparation is a good key to success.
” I know that the year has just began, but weightlifting is an individual sport , so we need to work on ourselves individually and come together as a body to build a formidable team for the festival which is expected to hold November, this year,” he added.
Meanwhile, the State Weightlifting body resumed normal training session for the year, last week, at the weightlifting gymnasium (gymn) at the Niger Street sporting venue, Old Port Harcourt Township.
