Briggs Supports RSG’s War Against Soot In Rivers
A political top-notch, Hon David Briggs, has thrown his full weight behind the Rivers State Government’s total clampdown on illegal oil refining and those engaging in the unlawful business across the 23 local government areas of the state.
In a chat with newsmen, in Port Harcourt, he strongly supported the initiative and seriousness the Governor Nyesom Wike-led government attached to the fight against illegal oil bunkering, especially as such dastardly economic activity was negatively affecting the state’s monthly revenue from the federation account.
According to Briggs, “Any individual or group of individuals (no matter his or her status in the society) that participate directly or indirectly in the obnoxious illegal business, which has attendant dangerous consequences are manifest enemies of Rivers State, its numerous law abiding citizens and residents as well as the health and economy of the citizenry.
“There is no better time to embark on this full scale war against this prevailing act of economic sabotage and their masterminds in Rivers State than now,” he stressed.
The influential politician, therefore, advised the perpetrators of the illegal oil bunkering business and their cohorts to desist from it, while imploring the security agencies to comprehensively comb every nook and cranny of the oil and gas rich state, arrest and profile all persons involved in the oil theft business with its resultant hazardous sooth in the state for necessary action.
