CAFCC: Enyimba Storms Tunisia With Depleted Squad
Enyimba travelled via Air Maroc yesterday en- route to Tunisia ahead of this weekend’s CAF Confederation Cup playoff’s first leg tie with Al-Ittihad of Libya but the People’s Elephant left without some of their regular players.
Tidesports source gathered that Cyril Olisema was the hero when Enyimba edged AS Diambars 1-0 in Senegal in the first leg of the first round tie after he converted a late penalty kick but the midfielder is down with injury and unable to travel.
Victor Mbaoma, Daniel Darkwah, Imo Obot, Stephen Manyo and Christian Ekong are the other players that didn’t travel to Tunisia for the tie.
A top source in the team revealed that they were still in high spirits and raring to go in spite of the injuries to some of the regular players.
The source hinted that head coach, Finidi George, had prepared for the tie aware of the fact that he won’t be having them on the trip to Tunisia.
