Rivers Karate Begins Preparation For Youth Games
Rivers State Karate Association has commenced preparation for the 2021 edition of the National Youths Game (NYG) scheduled to kick off September, this year, in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Head Coach of the Association, Yacob K. O Davied disclosed this yesterday, during an exclusive interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the team has embarked on an intensive preparation to keep the athletes physically fit and technically ready for the task ahead, saying that the athletes are doing well in their efforts to compete favourably at the completion, when it finally gets underway.
“The athletes are working relentlessly to ensure that they have a better outing come September and as well do the state proud as they compete honourably with their counterparts in other parts of the federation”, Coach Davied Ewelie said.
He said that there is no doubt that the athletes will do their utmost when the chips are down, saying that they have been given the needed training, physically and technically, it is now left for them ( athletes to bring the desired result.
“ The athletes will put in their best performance, at Ilorin, come September , they have been receiving the needed training and adequate preparation is being made for them not to fail, but, deliver the right results”, he added.
He urged the athletes to keep the fire burning and not relent in their efforts to perform optimally at the competition which is billed to hold from 7 to 17 September, 2021.
