PHCL: Salvation Coach Attributes Draw To Poor Officiating
The Head coach of Salvation Boys FC of Port Harcourt, Toku Mike, has attributed the one all draw against Port Harcourt United FC, at the ongoing Port Harcourt City Football League (PHCFL) to poor offi-ciating.
He said they were all out to win the game but for the biased centre referee.
Mike, made the assertion during his post match interview with sports journalists on Wednesday, shortly after his boys played 1-1 draw against Port Harcourt United, at the Nigeria Air Force Base football field in Port Harcourt.
According to him, his boys played in line with the rules of the game but their opponents were very combative.
“It was a match that we supposed to win but the centre referee over looked some foul plays in favour of his team.
“We are going down on the log but I believe by our next game we are going to improve and get three points,” he stated.
In his reaction, the Head coach of Port Harcourt United, Moniywa Iyabo, disclosed that the game was a controversial game.
He stated that he res-pect the strength of the Salvation Boys because they are one of the strongest teams in the league.
“For us the draw is not a very good result but is manageable.
We have moved one step forward which is very important.
“We have to take the game one after the other, I think we still have other games and those ones will determine our position at the end of the league,” he added.
