Sunshine Stars Shift Focus To Derby Clash
Coach Deji Ayeni, says Sunshine Stars will go into a derby match with Kwara United with full confidence after beating Abia Warriors.
The resurgent Owena Whales recorded a 2-1 win over visiting Abia Warriors at the Ondo State Sports Complex.
Two first half goals from Sadeeq Yusuf won the game for the Owena Whales, despite late fight back from the visitors.
Speaking after the game, Coach Ayeni said, scoring twice in the first half was key to the victory.
“I take a positive stance from this result; with this winning we are going to get it right in other subsequent matches. I thank God for the clinical finish in the first half and you can see the second half was a different affair; everyone trying to play safe,” he told the news conference after the game.
Sunshine Stars will hope to continue their revival when they travel to Kwara United who themselves are enjoying very descent run at home.
Coach Ayeni is however optimistic about his side’s chances of nicking something positive from the game.
“Kwara is not a new terrain for me. There is no team that is invincible, we are going to work on our tactics and approach the game well.” he said.
