Adetunji Attributes Draw Against Wikki To Bad Luck
Sunday Adetunji, has blamed bad luck for Rivers United’s 1-1 draw against Wikki Tourists on Monday.
Rivers United forced their guests to a draw in the Week 23 of the 2020-2021 Nigeria Professional Football League encounter in Port Harcourt.
Former Rivers United player, Stephen, gave the visitors early lead with a good header from a well taken corner.
Sunday Adetunji, Nelson Esor and Martins Usule were guilty of wasting good opportunities to restore parity for the Stanley Eguma’s tutored side later.
Malachi Ohawume, however, spared their blushes as he scored the equaliser with few seconds left in the added time, to snatch a point for Rivers United.
Commenting on the performance to journalists after the game, Adetunji was left frustrated with everything, especially their failure to kill off the game by taking chances.
“We were unlucky not to win, we were the better side, we created the chances and should have won. It’s painful, but we need to focus on our next games,” he said.
With the result, Rivers United has now failed to win at home for the second successive game this season.
