‘The Wait On League Resumption Continues’
Coach of Nigeria Professional Foot-ball League side, Nasarawa United FC, Bala Nkiyu has stated that the wait on the resumption of the topflight league in Nigeria will continue as there is nothing to work with for now until a national pronouncement is made ending the lockdown induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking in a chat with Tidesports source, Nkiyu said there is no amount of preparation that can be made for now without a definitive timeline when normalcy will return and hence everything will have to do with waiting on a pronouncement which will give the league organisers opportunities as to how to plan and communicate same to league clubs.
“It’s a national issue, If something has gotten to a stage now that everybody is staying indoor then you cannot start planning anything.
“Because no matter how eager you are, you cannot be more eager than the people that has the league. People that have the league are monitoring situation and definitely if the situation subside, it is now left for them to give notice to clubs.”
