Tension In Delta Community As Gunmen Kill Two
There was tension in Owase Community, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday as gunmen shot dead two youngmen in Boro Street, off Udu Road.
The incident occurred at about 10am, The Tide source reports.
An eyewitness, who spoke with our correspondent on anonymity, said the gunmen drove into the area and dumped the deceased whom they had already beaten and tied with rope near a transformer.
According to the eyewitness,”They immediately shot the deceased before they left the scene.
“One of the deceased died instantly while the other sustained serious gunshot injuries.
“The incident attracted sympathisers who promptly called the President-General of the Community to the scene.
“It was the President-General that informed the Police in Ovwian/Aladja Division.
“It was at the point of rushing the second victim to hospital that he gave up the ghost.”
When contacted for comments, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa confirmed the report in a text message he sent to our correspondent in Warri.
“Yes. Just now the DPO confirmed the deceased to be cultists and that the murder is cult related,” he said.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
