C’River Commissioners Accuse NASS Members Of Undermining Ayade
The 39 Commissioners in the Cross River State Executive Council have accused the “members of the party currently representing the state in the National Assembly of heating the polity with their vaulting ambition” and “undermining the state Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade.”
In a statement read by the Commissioner for Aviation, Jerk Otu-Enyia the commissioners decried the attitude of the National Assembly members who according to them claim that this were not consulted Part of the statement reads “in recent times, Cross River State representatives in the National Assembly of the PDP extraction are complaining of not being consulted by the Governor in the determination of who becomes councillorship and chairmanship candidates in the various wards and Local Government Councils in Cross River State.
“They have vowed to create a seeming conflict in the forthcoming PDP Congresses in Cross River State by separately and collectively putting out parallel Executive Committee structures at all levels. We make bold to state that they were laid down processes and procedures by the PDP for the determination of candidates for the Local Government Council elections of March 2020; which were carefully followed.
“The Perigrino hall in Government House has remained the conclave where decisions of fundamental importance is taken as to who takes what, when and where, in the State. The story has not been different without prejudice to the change in strategy and style by the occupant of such office from time to time.
Between 1999 – 2007 His Excellency Mr. Donald Duke as Governor and Leader of the party, initiated this and representatives at State and National levels were enthroned.
