RSUBEB Inaugurates Technical Team On Data Dev
The authorities of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB), Port Harcourt have inaugurated Local Government Education Authority (lGEA) Technical team that will generate and develop accurate data base across schools in the state for the effective management and administration of activities of the board.
Inaugurating the team during a brief ceremony held at the board headquarters in Port Harcourt over the weekend on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the state UBE Board, Ven. Fyneface Ndubuisi Akah, the director in charge of Administration and Supplies in the board, Deacon Dimiary Franklin described data as very important to the running of every organization advised members of the team to take the assignment seriously, saying that for them to succeed ,they must start from the foundation and must be creative as well as have passion for the job.
While thanking them for accepting to do the job, Akah further advised them against receiving any form of bribe as they embark on the exercise and urged them to ensure that they deliver accurate and proper data of schools to the board.
Earlier in his speech, the state chairman of the technical team on Basic Education Data Update, Evangelist Emmanuel Ogbugo said the essence of the committee was to ensure data update in the UBE schools.
The state chairman who said Rivers State had always lived up to expectation appealed to the LGEA technical team to handle the job with every sense of responsibility as the state cannot afford to fail in the exercise.
Ogbugo who is also the director incharge of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Board maintained that the Board will continue to work hand in hand with the other relevant agencies to ensure that accurate data is obtained for efficient service delivery.
He therefore used the medium to call on anyone that is having challenge in the operation of computer system to go and learn it as their assignment would depend on the use of computer and not enalogue.
According to him, the functions of the committee focus on the areas of “ obtaining comprehensive and reliable data on children of school going age in the Basic Education Schools in rivers state, obtaining up to date number of qualified teaching and non-teaching staff, determine the existing Basic Education Personnel in the State UBE institutions, obtain indices required to determine key performance indicator of Basic Education sub- sector in Rivers State and generate data for tracking the relevant sustainable Development Goals among others”
Present at the inauguration which took place at the library hall of the Board also had some directors in attendance.
