ANDMON’s Scribe Backs Wike On N166bn Projects Fund
The General Secretary, Association of Niger Delta Monarchs of Nigeria ( ANDMON), King Leslie N Eke, says Governor Nyesom Wike’s observation on the distribution of the N166 billion for federal projects across the country was right.
King Eke said this when he spoke in an interview with newsmen at his palace at the weekend at Woji in Obio/Akpo Local Government Area.
He challenged the Federal Government and its agencies to prove Rivers people wrong by pointing out any of its executed project in the state in recent times.
The Nyerisi Eli Woji expressed regrets that the Federal Government could starve the state in spite its major contribution to the country’s economic growth.
“The Federal Government is starving the state of projects, not minding the contribution it is making in the economic raise of the country”, he said.
The ANDMAON scribe, who also is the Eze Oha Evo of Evo Kingdom, and Eze Gbakagbaka, hinted that major part of the East West Road, which is a Federal project, was still begging for attention.
According to him, Governor Wike’s observation should call for no noise, but a needed attention to meet for the state, considering its position in the country.
Another point the Monarch raised in corroboration of the Governor’s assertion was that of Onne Road and Eleme bridge, which, he said, are in a very deplorable stage.
“All these are Federal Government’s projects in the state. They are all in a very bad shape “, he noted.
He further explained that it was a deliberate attempt by the Federal Government to sabotage the efforts of the Governor, who, he said, was trying selflessly to place the state among developed cities of the World.
Accessing the State Governor’s performance on his 100 days in office in his second term, he said the Governor had performed above the people’s expectation going by the number of quality projects he had delivered within the short period.
