Rivers FA Cup Finals: PH City FC Ambushes Rivers United, Sunday
Sharks Football Club Stadium, at Old Port Harcourt township would next Sunday experience a huge crowd as Rivers United FC take on Port Harcourt City FC, in the finals of Rivers State FA Cup.
This is the first time both teams would meet at the finals of the competition, as they qualified on merits.
United scaled through to the finals after beating hard fighting Urim FC, 2-0, while Port Harcourt City FC beat Go Round FC of Omoku 7-6 on penalty, after they played 2-2 in regulation time.
Captain of Rivers United FC, Austin Festus has expressed confidence that his side will win the trophy, however admitted that the encounter will be a very tough one.
According to him, Port Harcourt City FC will only struggle and do their best, but they will definitely lose the game.
“ There is no doubt that Port Harcourt City FC is a good team. I believe the match will be a tough one, but at the end we will win the game.
“I know that we have experience than them, but we can not also underrate them, because this is football,” Festus said.
Coach of Port Harcourt City FC, Joseph Zico said he is not afraid to play the premiership side.
“ We are ready to play Rivers United FC, in the finals. They are our sister club, so we know ourselves very well,” Zico said.
