Assembly Member-Elect Reassures On Quality Representation
Following his recent victory at the Court of Appeal, Abdulwaheed Yusuf, Kwara State APC House of Assembly member-elect, has restated his commitment to effective and quality representation of his constituency.
Yusuf made the commitment while addressing some members of his All Progressive Congress (APC) at his constituency in Offa, Offa Local Government Area, on Thursday.
Yusuf, in the just-concluded general elections won to become house member-elect to represent Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun constituency in Offa.
His party candidacy for the slot which was earlier challenged and was upturned by an Ilorin High Court however was affirmed by an Appeal Court through its judgment of April 5.
He was subsequently presented with a certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Yusuf, who dedicated his victories both at the polls and at the court to the people of the constituency, promised to facilitate workable legislation for the overall benefit of the people of the constituency.
”This is the best way to reciprocate the unflinching support and magnanimity of the people of the constituency that ensured these victories,’’ he said.
Yusuf, while promising to run an all inclusive and open door administration, urged the people not to hesitate in giving him useful tips and counsel to achieve desired results.
He restated his commitment to prioritise improved qualitative education, youths and women empowerment, health, skill acquisition, vocation and human capital development.
Yusuf described the outcome of the Appeal Court judgment as a recognition and respect for the decision of the people of the constituency, who voted during the elections.
”Considering our popularity among the people of Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun constituency, it would have been a height of injustice if their voices are not heard.
“My people have shown me love, given me their trust, hence the need for me to represent their overall best interests and desires.
”In view of the enormous tasks and challenges ahead of us, I call on the stakeholders to join hands together so that our goals and target will be fully actualised.

APC Unveils New NWC At National Convention
Delegates at the convention, held at the Eagle Square, also produced a new national working committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement endorsed by stakeholders.
Dr Ben Nwoye was named deputy national chairman (south), replacing Mr Emma Eneukwu, following consultations within the party.
Sources within the party said the decision was influenced by zoning considerations and consultations among party leaders, with Mr Peter Mbah, Enugu State governor, playing a significant role in ensuring Dr Nwoye’s inclusion.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Yilwatda said his re-election was a call to greater service and pledged commitment to unity within the ruling party.
“We are ready to serve, ready to lead, and we are ready to build the party, together with the nation,” he said.
