Anglican Diocese Commits To Gospel Spread, Discipleship
The Bishop of the Diocese of Niger Delta North, Rt Rev Wisdom Budu Ihunwo, says the Diocese is committed to the task of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples.
Rt Rev Ihunwo stated this recently in a closing remark at the 2019 Port Harcourt City wide mega crusade held last month at Capt. Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Rumuola, Port Harcourt.
According to the Bishop, “since inception in 1996, the Diocese of Niger Delta North has strived hard to live up to her vision and mission which is to “fulfil the great commandment and commission, progressing from membership to discipleship, equipping, supporting and sending disciples to make disciples”,
Rt Rev Ihunwo stated that the crusade which has become a major catalyst for revival, not just to the Diocese but to the whole city of Port Harcourt and entire Rivers State, expressed satisfaction on the national and international dimension the crusade had attained.
“He said it is now an event which every Anglican and indeed Christian faitbful within Port Harcourt in particular and the world at large now looks forward to”, adding that the Port Harcourt City wide mega crusade is the precursor for modem day open air mega crusade in the city of Port Harcourt.
“We are grateful to God that as the wave of this move of God increased, it began to capture the attention of other churches and denominations. The walls of partitions of denomination were also broken and many members of other churches become part and parcel of the programme,” the Bishop stated.
The Lord Bishop of Diocese who appreciated the lead speakers during the crusade namely: Rev Canon Prince Charles Ezeanochie, Vicar of St Michael’s Anglican Church, Ozuoba Parish, Rt Rev Ephraim Ikeakor, Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Amichi and Rev Dr Uma Ukpai, a renowned pastor and an international Evangelist.
He thanked the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for finding time to be at the crusade and commended him for taking the right decision to make Rivers State a Christian state.
