PH Residents Flay PHED Over Poor Services
Residents of Port Harcourt and its environs have decried the poor power supply rendered by the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED).
Some residents of Rumukalagbor Community in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, who spoke with The Tide in a random interview, said PHED has performed below expectations as their services were grossly inadequate.
A youth leader in the community, Mr Henry Kalagbor, said the service rendered by PHED in power supply was not satisfactory as electricity supply in the area was always epileptic.
“PHED has proven to be inefficient in their services. We in Rumukalagbor Community are not happy with their services. You hardly see electricity in the area, and when they bring the light, it doesn’t last for one hour.
They seem to enjoy some monopoly, and that is why they are sabotaging the people, we need more service providers so that there will be competition,” he stated.
A resident of Diobu Community, also in Port Harcourt, Mr Kenneth Nwigbor, also expressed dismay over the services of PHED. He said PHED was more interested in sending bills without providing corresponding services.
“Here in Diobu, we hardly see electricity, but they (PHED) bring the bills regularly. It is not ideal that we should be paying for services not rendered in this New Year.
