Owolabi Predicts Better Days For 3SC
An ex-international, Felix Owolabi, yesterday said that with hard work and dedication, the gloomy days of Ibadan Shooting Stars (3SC) would soon be over.
The former player of IICC Shooting Stars, now 3SC, told newsmen that watching his club struggle in the last three years had been nothing but torture.
“Honestly it’s been such a horror that my own club is going through this challenge, but the truth is that no club is above challenge, no club prays for this.
“But sadly it has happened. For three years, now it’s been turbulent for them. The players keep struggling to get out of relegation which we know it’s not easy,” he said .
Owolabi was among the 1992 squad that won the first edition of CAF Cup now known as Confederation Cup;
3SC has also produced notable footballers such as Segun Odegbami, late Rashidi Yekini and Taiwo Ogunjobi.
“This is not the time for players in the club to ditch the club; this is a time when players should play their role; same goes to the managers, they should motivate these players.
“Well-motivated players will perform magic on the pitch; I strongly believe in that.
“Also the club should take advantage of this low time, to look inwards and challenge themselves to be better than they were before”, he counselled.
Tidesports reports that 3sc won the Nigeria Premier League, now known as Nigeria Professional Football League in 1976, 1980, 1983, 1995 and 1998.
