RSU Inaugurates Legislative Chambers In Law Faculty
The Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo has inaugurated the first legislative chambers at the university.
The inauguration which was held on Thursday at the law faculty of the university was hosted by the Law Students Association of Nigeria (Lawson) RSU branch and sponsored the board chairman of Elano Investments Limited,by Chief Gomba Okanje,
Speaking at the ceremony, the president of Law SAN, RSU chapter, Mr Godswill Alikor, said the chambers would prepare students of the faculty for greater legislative responsibilities when they graduated and became integrated in to the law practice.
He described the establishment of the chamber as the first kind across Nigerian universities, adding that the legislative chambers estabslihed would groom law students who may venture in to lawmaking business.
Also speaking the sponsor of the project, Chief Gomba Okange averred that he wanted to leave behind a legacy that succeeding generations would benefit from.
He noted that the faculty of law at the state university in the past had produced many brilliant and successful lawyers and urged students of the law faculty to take their studies very will and emulate their predecessors
The representative of the Dean and the Staff Adviser of Law SAN in the law faculty, Dr Obugheni Arugu thanked the donor for the gesture even as he appealed for provision of bus for the students as well as, awarding scholarship to them.
