LG Boss Decries Resurgence Of Cult War In Communities
The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, High Chief Tom Aliezi has condemned in strong terms, the resurgence of cult war in the area, particularly the recent case of cult clash in Ubimini and Egbeda communities.
He called on youths to embrace peace and become better persons to the society, emphasising that the reward for crime and criminality was destruction.
In a statement, yesterday, Aliezi, confirmed that the attack on the two communities was a battle for territorial supremacy between rival cult groups.
He stated that most of the youths involved in the cult activities were ignorant of the damage they were causing to their lives, because of the hard drugs they took.
He hinted that he has taken urgent steps in ensuring that normalcy was restored in the affected communities by providing logistics support to security operatives and their Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) to move into the troubled communities.
The Chief Security Officer of Emohua Local Government Area stated that the attack in Ubimini, which was a spill over of the violence in Egbeda community came at a time he was almost concluding discussions with Egbeda Peace and Security Committee on how to restore peace in the community.
“Immediately I got the information, I put a call across to the surveillance and police teams, and they moved in swiftly, and so many persons from the communities called me to confirm that.”
