FAAN Boss Lauds Success Of African Airshow
The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Engr Saleh Dunorna, has expressed satisfaction over the just-concluded first African Airshow held in Accra, Ghana, with the assurance that Nigeria has the potential to move African Aviation forward.
Dunorna who made this known in a statement represented by Head, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Henreitta Yakubu, to journalists on the outcome of the airshow Monday, said that the aviation industry was making great progress in the continent.
According to him, there was need to also step up efforts to ensure that awareness was created on external activities with a view to alerting the world of the achievements of African nations.
“We really need to go a step higher, based on what is on ground in Nigeria. We have the manpower, the resources both human and financial to host this type of event, but we need to blow our trumpet by creating real awareness”, he said.
Dunorna also commended the Ghanian government for hosting the first African Airshow in the region, pointing out that Ghanians are trying and that he’s proud of them.
He said that Nigerians can do better because the potentials and the technical kmow how to excel are very much available.
The FAAN boss, however, noted that such airshows were avenues for government agencies as well as other private companies to show case their businesses, as a means of creating awareness.
Dunorna also said that the recent certification of both the Lagos and Abuja airports was indicatives of the authority’s determination and preparedness to tackle any infrastructure challenges.
