3,000 Ogonis Ratify Support For Wike’s Second Term
Over 3,000 leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogoni, have met to ratify their earlier stand on the endorsement of the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike for a second term in office.
The PDP leaders from Ogoni restated their commitment to remain supportive to the administration of Wike for the sustenance of the developmental strides in the state.
Speaking to newsmen after the high-powered meeting, the leader of PDP in Ogoniland, Sen Lee Ledogo Maeba commended the stakeholders for attending the meeting.
Maeba said they have reviewed the appraisal of their last meeting which announced the Ogonis’ total support for a second term bid of Governor Nyesom Wike.
The senator explained that they were working towards uniting all sons and daughters of Ogoni to support the governor, noting that the Ogoni political future will be negotiated under the leadership of Governor Nyesom Wike.
The senator advised the leaders of the four Ogoni local governments, wards and units to always embrace men and women who were willing to join the PDP.
It would be recalled that the PDP leaders are drawn from Khana, Gokana, Tai and Eleme local government areas.
The meeting was attended by former Commissioner for Finance, Dr Fred Kpakol, former Commissioner for Budget, Isaac Kamalu, former Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr John Bazia, former Commissioner for Environment, Prof. Roseline Konya, the four caretaker committee chairmen of Khana, Gokana, Tai and Eleme, among others.
