Monarch Returns To PH Chiefs Council
As more traditional rulers in Rebisi continue to broker peace in the kingdom, the paramount ruler and Nyeweli Oromeruzimgbu, Eze Chukwuemeka Orluchime has returned to the Port Harcourt Council of Chiefs headed by Chief Azubuike Nmerukini.
Orluchime who revealed this while speaking to The Tide over the weekend said he has resigned his membership and chairmanship of the factional Port Harcourt local government area council of traditional rulers headed by Prince Victor N. Worluchem.
The traditional ruler explained that his resignation from his former position as the chairman in his factional camp was for the overall interest of peace, unity and progress of the Rebisi Kingdom and Ikwerre as a whole.
He noted that he has rejoined the Port Harcourt City Council of Chiefs headed by Chief Azubuike Mnerukini as the chairman and HRH Christopher .N. Wonodi as secretary to from a formidable force for peace to reign in the kingdom.
He urged other chiefs still in the faction to come over for the progress and unity of Rebisi and the state.
The traditional ruler further explained that he wanted peace to reign in the kingdom hence he decided to resign from his former chairmanship position so that the chiefs’ council will be cohesive.
The Tide recalls that the Port Harcourt council of chiefs became polarised after the death and burial of late HRM, Eze Sunday Worluchem.
The disagreement amongst the chiefs brought about factionalisation of the chiefs’ council with one-headed by Orluchime and the other by Chief Nmerukini.
Speaking to The Tide on the issue, the chairman of Port Harcourt council of chiefs, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini said the council has received Chief Orluchime and commended him for his courage to reconcile with his people and ancestral home.
Nmerukini advised the chiefs to be steadfast and never to do anything that will be detrimental to the culture and progress of Rebisi Kingdom and Ikwerre as a whole.
According to him, “Eze Orluchime has promised to work with us for the progress of Rebisi Kingdom. We appreciate his courage and believe that he will come with his wealth of experience for the development of the kingdom.
It would be recalled that a Port Harcourt High court had ordered Eze Victor Worluchem to stop parading himself as the Eze Opara Rebisi.`
