PFN Inaugurates Akwa-Cross Ministerial Network In PH
The National Publicity Secretary of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Emmah Isong during the weekend in Port Harcourt inaugurated Akwa-Cross Ministerial Network (ACMIN), a rallying body for gospel ministers in the two states.
Speaking during the inauguration at LA Kings Hotel, Bishop Isong said PFN will endorse the network as it conforms to the ministerial ethics that would have positive impact on God’s kingdom service.
He stressed the need for the people of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States to believe in themselves and the grace God has given them, adding “we are the cause of our problems”.
Bishop Isong who spoke on the topic, “Boosting Moral and Cultural Perception”, underpinned the need for gospel ministers from the area to break the curse of pride, immorality/character deformation and inferiority complex.
“There is also the need to break the curse of infighting, strive, low mentality, rejection and betrayal”, which according to him, have been responsible for ministers’ slow pace in rising to the top.
In his welcome address, the convener of the programme, Prof Aniekan Ekere said the purpose of the newtwork is to pursue excellence, adding “with prayer, mentorship, self-empowerment and direction, we can reposition this mentality in our people”, adding that networking seemed to be the solution to the problem.
The special assistant to Cross River State Governor on Religious Matters, Apostle Frank Umo, who represented His Excellency, Prof Ben Ayade said the vision is timely, adding that the integrity of the leaders will go a long way in boosting the achievements.
He pledged support for the network, adding, “I am fully persuaded that this vision will speak beyond human comprehension. We trust to make the network grow from glory to glory”.
The co-ordinating officer, Rev (Dr) Ezare Anani said the body will soon constitute the executive members of the network, adding that the vision would be achieved.
Also speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Rev (Dr) Augustine Essien noted that the key problem of the country is leadership, adding that the network is aimed at proffering solutions to the problem of leadership at the church, business and even the family levels.
A member of the network, Rev Emmanuel E. Ekpo who is the senior minister of Assemblies of God, Silver Valley commended the effort of the leaders of the organisation, saying that the group would serve as a unifying factor that will also bring recognition to the ministers in the region.

Make God Your Anchor To Fulfill Destiny, Cleric Charges Christians … As Jaja Marks 70th Birthday
The Lead Pastor at Jesus Appointed People’s Bible Church, Ozogbe, Ikwerrengwo-Etche, in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Pastor Promise Nwaelele, has urged Christians to make God the anchor of their lives in whatever position they find themselves, in order to attain the destinies set for them by God.
Pastor Nwaelele, who gave the charge recently in a sermon he preached at the 70th birthday anniversary thanksgiving service of Sir Donald Michael Jaja, a veteran journalist in Rivers State, said this is because any genuine child of God is a permanent target for destabilization and destruction by the devil.
Taking his text from the Bible book of Mark 4:16-17, the preacher stated that fulfilment in life for a child of God required faith, obedience to God’s word, humility and grace to withstand trials and temptations.
According to him, temptations and afflictions are bound to happen in the lives of those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
“No wonder the Bible said that those that endure till the end shall be saved”, he said.
The Clergyman said God prospers believers who are humble, not proud and conceited, and leads them to destiny fulfilment.
“David said in Psalm 51:17, that the sacrifices acceptable to God are a broken spirit, not an impatient or proud spirit”, the preacher said.
He called on Christians not to allow persecutions and afflictions to sway them from the love and blessings of Jesus Christ.
On his part, Jaja, a seasoned Journalist who retired as an Acting Editor of the Rivers State Government-owned The Tide Newspaper, gave thanks to God for honouring him by giving him the grace of attaining 70 years.
“I cannot capture what the good Lord has done for me in my entire life in this fleeting moment of thanksgiving. But, I know that without Him, I wouldn’t have been who I am today, in all spheres. Therefore, my joy knows no bounds as I give thanks to my creator today, alongside my family. Praise be His holy name”, Jaja said.
