Golden Jubilee Football Competition: ASALGA Qualifies For Group Stage

ment Area in Rivers State football team has qualified for the group stage of the ongoing Golden Jubilee football competition.
ASALGA defeated Akuku Toru Local Government football team 2-0 to enter group stage of the tournament.
The team had earlier in the competition beat Bonny Football team, 2 goals to one before it out played Akulga to qualify for the group stage.
The Golden Jubilee Football Competition is one of the sporting events put together to celebrate the 50 years of the creation of Rivers State.
Reacting to the victory, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Council, Hon. Wright Promise Warmate, commended the players and coach for their commitment and charged them to go for the trophy.
Warmate expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the victory and for the team qualifying to the group stage.
He also applauded the team for their mastery and skillful display of their God-given talents at the pitch and expressed hope that they will bring the Golden Jubilee trophy home.
According to him: ’’At the group stage, which comprises the 8 Local Government Areas of Rivers South/West Senatorial District, team ASALGA has emerged strong and unbeaten to play in the group stage’’.
‘’The Future is green for team ASALGA and hope you will come home with the cup to make the local government more proud’’, he said.
