The groups, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt and signed by Chairman of the Rivers Downstream Coalition, Sunday Daazavelo, and Chairman of the Rivers Dynamic Forum, Prince Morris, stated that, the “proven records of experience of Mene in financial administration and his commitment to public service will rob off positively on the new NDDC board in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.”
The statement urged the new board to be proactive in addressing the development challenges in the Niger Delta, and solicited the support of all stakeholders to the new NDDC management, to enable them succeed, noting that the peculiar development needs of the Niger Delta region required a concrete and consistent effort.
According to the statement, “the Federal Government has demonstrated untiring effort towards addressing the problems of development in the Niger Delta”, which requires maximum sustainability to achieve desired objectives.
