Port Manager Applauds Buhari Over Rail Line
The outgoing Manager,
Calabar Port of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Calabar, Cross River State, Engr. Oluseyi Ogundele, has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for the award of contract for the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Rail line.
Ogundele made the commendation when he received in audience executive members of the Nigeria Organization for Youth Advancement (NOYA), South-South zone, Port Harcourt, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Calabar.
He noted that the railway line, when completed, would boost economic activities in the South-South region and Calabar, the capital of Cross River, in particular.
The Calabar Port manager also commended the efforts of the President towards the diversification of the nation’s economy to other sectors, especially agriculture, noting that the action would not only reduce over-dependence on oil for revenue generation, but would also boost food production in the country.
Ogundele further stated his support to the President’s anti-corruption crusade and other development programmes aimed at taking the nation to the path of glory.
The outgoing Calabar Port manager also used the opportunity to thank the President for the appointment of Hadiza Bala Usman as the new managing director of Nigerian Ports Authority, and described the appointment as a reward for excellence.
He congratulated the new managing director for her appointment, and wished her a successful tenure in office.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Zonal Secretary of NOYA, Barrister Darlington Awute, had thanked Ogundele for granting them audience, and lauded him for his leadership strides that have taken the Calabar Port to higher level.
