Firm Commissions Water Project, Health Centres In Andoni
An indigenous oil firm ,
Amni International Petroleum Development Company, has commissioned water project at Agbakoroma community in Andoni Local Government Area.
Also commissioned are two health centres at Egwlede and Ibot-Irem communities respectively.
General Manager of the oil firmMr. Mukaila Oyemale said that the projects are part of the corporate social responsibilities of the company.
“These projects are part of the corporate social responsibility from the company to the community and they are the newest.
“These projects were chosen by the community through the community Relations Committee (CRC) system. Amni has put in place to coordinate the community company affairs on behalf of the entire Andoni community.
He said that the objective of the project was to increase access to potable water to check waterborne diseases, adding that, the company will continue to carryout programmes that will impact positively on the lives of its host and communities.
According to the General Manager, “Amni is committed to sustainable development and maintaining cordial relationship with her host communities.
“We will continue to do everything that, it takes to make the development of the host community in the area of our operators a top priority” he said.
Also speaking, chairman of Andoni Chiefs council, Chief Silas Eneyo said that the Andoni people are happy with the management of Amni International Petroluem Development Company over its good corporate social responsibility policies.
Eneyo said that the projects so far commissioned are vital to the area as it will help to improve the livelihood of the people.
Also speaking, the leader of Andoni delegations on the community Relations Committee (CRC), Chief J.W. Okuruket said that Amni operations in Andoni has impacted positively on the people and urged the company to sustain its programme of development of Andoni.
