3SC Shelves Pay Strike For Rangers’ Showdown
Players of Nigeria league
club Shooting Stars have shelved a planned pay strike to press for the payment of six months’ salaries and several match bonuses.
It was understood that the senior players convinced the other players to suspend the strike, which they were to embark on after the weekend loss at Plateau United after they got word that they will get a month’s pay and a match bonus this week.
“They have shelved the strike so as to get the one month salary they promised to pay them this week,” revealed a source close to ‘The Oluyole Warriors’.
“But after this weekend’s match against Rangers, they will likely go on the strike to get all what Shooting Stars owe them as the season is about to end.”
Besides six months’ salaries, the players claim they have not been paid nine match bonuses.
On Saturday, they welcome perennial rivals and league leaders Enugu Rangers in continuation of the Nigeria league.
Shooting Stars are 14th on the table with 41 points from 32 matches.
