Projects: N’Delta Ministry Assures Bidders Of Fairness
The Permanent Secre
tary, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Mrs Belema Wakama, has assured bidders for the ministry’s 2016 capital projects of fairness, openness and accountability in the bidding process.
Wakama made the promise at the opening of the bids in Abuja.
“Due process will follow in the evaluation of all the bids and all bidders found worthy will be accordingly recommended and awarded the respective contracts,” she said.
Wakama expressed regret that the Terms of Reference (ToR) for some Lots were not ready for issuance to bidders.
She said that bids for the affected Lots would be handled later in order to ensure transparency and due process in the procurement exercise.
She said advertisements were published in the Federal Tenders Journal of Daily Trust and Thisday Newspapers on June 13, 2016 inviting contractors, consultants and service providers to bid for various projects in the 2016 appropriation.
Wakama also said that the ministry issued an addendum, correcting some omissions/commissions on July 7, by which the bids closing date was extended from July 13 to July 20.
“In the addendum, some Lots were stepped down,” she reiterated.
She called for support and cooperation of all bidders to make the bids opening process a success.
