FAAN Alerts On Employment Racketeering
The Management of the
Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has alerted the general public of employment advertisement being peddled by some fraudsters aimed at extorting money from the public.
A release from the authorities of the FAAN, made available to The Tide at the Port Harcourt International Airport has revealed that some unscrupulous people have devised a means of extorting money from unsuspecting Nigerians for employment in the authority through dubious and unapproved websites.
“It has come to the notice of the management of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria that some unscrupulous people are still extorting money from unsuspecting Nigerians and promising them of non-existent employment opportunities in the authority, through dubious websites.
“We hereby wish to restate to general public, especially job applicants to beware of such employment racketeers as the authority is not employing currently.
“We assure the public that whenever the authority gets approval to embark on employment, the exercise will be duly advertised and the process made transparent, in line with best practices and standards”, the release stated.
The FAAN further stated that for the avoidance of doubt, the only authorized website of the authority is that of the WWW.faan.gov.ng.
