College Girl Sets Sight On Playing For Nigeria
Queen’s College
Chinasa Nneji has set her sights on earning a place in the Nigeria Women national team in few years time.
The SS3 pupil captained her side to win the GTBank Masters Cup for Girls having scored a brace in the 4-0 demolition of Federal Science and Technology College in the final played on last Friday – a victory which meant her school won the competition for four years at a bounce.
Aside from her heroics at the Onikan Stadium, she was also named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. And while expressing her delight with the victory, she also hopes to play for Nigeria in future.
“I’m very happy and very delighted. Infact, I’m speechless and I give all glory to God,” Nneji told newsmen
“Also, I want to thank my coach for the opportunity to show my skills and captain the school team.
“Winning the trophy and the best player award is a double blessing for me and will definitely not forget this day in a hurry.
“My target now is to keep working harder and I believe that if I am playing regularly, I can be in the national team in three or four years’ time. That is my dream and I am working towards it.”
