Board Promises Renovation Of Health Centres
As part of efforts to re
vamp the state’s health sector, the Rivers State primary Health Care Management Board (RSPHCMB) has promised to renovate Primary health centres across the state to meet with the health needs of the people.
The Chairman of the board, Prof. Pricewill Chike gave the assurance during the board’s tour/inspection of health facilities in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor local government areas recently. Chike who noted with dismay the decay of equipment in some of the health facilities, said the board would do its best by renovating and putting in place needed and functional equipments that would cater for the primary healthcare needs of the people.
While noting that Governor Nyesom Wike led administration was poised to addressing the health challenges of the people as well as uplifting the state’s health sector, Chike maintained that the board would partner with the government in bringing it to realization.
Chike said, “primary healthcare is the base of the effective healthcare service and so by the confidence reposed in the board by the governor, we will do our best for the focus to be achieved.
Also speaking , the Permanent Secretary of the board, Dr. Agiriye Agba Harry, said the visit was to enable the board members as well as management have a first hand information on the state of the health centres and to be abreast of the gaps to be filled in the delivery of health services to the people of the state.
The board also visited Model Health Centre, Rumuigbo, Model Health Centre, Rumueme and Model Health Centre, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo among others.
