Igbokwe Accuses NFF Of Bias
The last has certainly not been heard on the “secret elections” which has thrown up Ifeanyi Ubah as chairman of the Anambra State Football Association in rather controversial circumstances as one of the aspiring board members, Ikechukwu Igbokwe, has accused the Nigeria Football Federation of bias and favouritism.
Speaking to newsmen Igbokwe claimed he was suddenly informed of the screening of candidates on Monday May 2, instead of the Tuesday May 3 date initially announced.
“I was in Abuja on Monday when they (NFF) sent me a text message that the screening of candidates would hold that same day, instead of the following day as earlier scheduled.
“The text came at about 8am, and they said the screening was for 11.30 am and there was no way I could have gotten to Awka in three hours.
“So, they disqualified me because they said I failed to attend the screening exercise, which just smacks of bias and pure favoritism.”
NFF have yet to make an official statement on this matter.
