Euro Clubs Chase Kano Pillars’ Midfielder
Several European clubs
are hot on the chase of Nigeria international Ifeanyi Matthew ahead of the summer transfer window.
The versatile 19-year-old midfielder was Nigeria’s top star at the CHAN in Rwanda and has since established himself at four-time Premier League champions Kano Pillars this season.
Checks revealed Matthew has suitors in Spain, Denmark and Belgium.
“There are concrete offers for Ifeanyi and it is now left for him to decide his options,” said a top source.
The Pillars star, who is on loan from FC Hearts, could play as a defensive or offensive midfielder and has represented Nigeria at U17, U20 and full international levels.
He is technically sound, intelligent and he is armed with superb vision as well as a decent shot.
‘Ify’ has also been called up to the Nigeria Olympic team who are preparing for an invitational tournament in South Korea later this month.
Incidentally, interim Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf gave him his big break with El Kanemi two seasons ago.
