C’River Govt Assures On Infrastructural Dev
The Cross River State
Commissioner for Works, Engr. Dane Osim-Asu, has assured that the provision of infrastructure through the construction and rehabilitation of roads is the State Government’s priority.
Engr. Osim-Asu the statement when Efut Ekondo South Community, Calabar South Local Government Area paid him a courtesy call in his office.
Hon. Osim-Asu stated that the Cross River State Government was highly committed to ensuring that roads were constructed, despite the financial crisis of the State, by interfacing with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Ministry of Niger Delta, to enhance development in the State.
The Commissioner noted that he had visited the Honourable Minister for Works, Hon. Babatunde Fashola in respect of the re-construction of Federal roads in the state and that they had agreed to work together to ensure the development of the state.
Hon. Osim-Asu said he was familiar with streets in Calabar South and assured the Community that Government was on top of the situation and would continue to do its best to provide motorable roads within and outside Calabar.
Earlier, the Community leader of Efut Ekondo, Etinyin Emmanuel Oyo-Ita, had decried the deplorable condition of the road in Calabar South, saying due to the bad roads, crime rate is on the increase in the area.”
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Architect, Linus Ovat thanked the community leaders for the visit and assured them that government would do it’s best to provide social services to the people.
