Old Train Coaches Litter PH Terminal
A year after the flag-off
of the rehabilitated Eastern Rail line of Inter City Train Service from Port Harcourt to Enugu, old dilapidated train coaches still litter the Port Harcourt axis of the terminal.
The Tide correspondent who visted the area reports that the old locomotive engine coaches are now a breeding place for criminals and reptiles.
Our correspondent stated that the coaches were also over-grown with weeds and defacing the beauty of the recently rehabilitated rail lines.
It was also learnt that some of the coaches have been converted to living apartments and business centres.
The Tide correspondent further observed that some of the materials used to rehabilitate the rail lines were also littered around the premises, a scenario not depicting a terminal that was given a face-lift recently.
They affirmed that the dilapidated old train coaches actually defaced the area and urged the authority to remove them.
Efforts to reach the Principal Traffic and Commercial Officer, Sanusi Abdullahi proved abortive.
