Bayelsa Election: Ex-Sylva’s Aide Campaigns For Dickson
A former commissioner under Chief Timipre Sylva regime, Engr. Mike Ogiasa, has urged Bayelsans to be ready to face the most dreaded security challenge and economy hardship if they eventually elect the opposition All Progressives Party (APC) in the state.
Hon. (Engr.) Ogiasa who stated this in yenagoa during an interview said that the insecurity orchestrated by the administration of Sylva was so fresh, that voting him again would be disservice to the people.
Ogiase said the present administration is doing a lot in tackling security challenges and also addressing social issues that were left undone by previous administration.
He advised Bayelsans to vote wisely for someone with track record of prudent management of the states scarce resources in order to stabilize the state economy.
Ogiasa, a former ally of Chief Sylva who had shifted loyalty contended that Governor Dickson has better chances of winning the forthcoming elections due to his exemplary leadership and great performance in governance.
“Dickson is my long time friend before even when he became the governor of the state. Dickson asked for my support while I was serving as commissioner under Sylva administration but I refused, because I was loyal to the government of the day.
“Let me tell you, Bayelsans will experience the worse security challenge if the opposition party take over the mantle of leadership in the state, workers too will face difficult times as their salaries would not be paid as at when due”.
He pointed out that Dickson deserved a second tenure having surprisely performed to the satisfaction of all Bayelsans, saying that the endorsement, he got from the former President Jonathan was not an error but well merited.
“Dr Jonathan could not have done otherwise, because those aspiring to govern the state were to not better than the incumbent”, he stated.
He therefore, urged Bayelsa residents to come out en masse and vote for PDP, who he said could guarantee protection of their lives and property.
