RSG Cautions Against Changing Workers Record Of Service
Rivers State Government
has cautioned workers to desist from changing their Record of Service.
The Head of Service, Barr. Rufus Godwins said this during his maiden meeting with Directors, at the Ministry of Justice Hall recently.
He frowned at some civil servants who have tampered with their records of service and told directors that forms have been given out for proper documentation of personnel, adding that the documentation process will be extended to every civil servant.
Godwins also admonished Rivers workers to be patient and be dedicated to their duties, recounting how he rose through the ranks many years ago and with hard work, God charted his way to the top.
The Head of Service remarked that promotion comes from God and charged workers to remain focused on the assignment given to them.
According to him, as a worker deserves his wages, every civil servants who has worked hard will be rewarded appropriately, adding that the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike is committed to repositioning the state civil service through enhancement of human-capital capacity building and training.
The Rivers HOS said he has set up two committees, to harmonize findings on the needed of civil servants, for onward transmission to the governor.
In her response, the Chairman of the Committee of Directors Forum, Mrs. Awoibi Karibo, congratulated the HOS on his appointment and assured him of cooperation from her colleagues.
While saying that all the directors require re-training, she said that the previous administration promised manpower and capacity development for Directors but was not fulfilled.
