Easter: Petroleum Products Availability Excites Motorists
As Christians all over
the world celebrated Easter, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ at the weekend, motorists in Port Harcourt have expressed delight over the availability of petroleum products at filling stations in the state during the period.
The motorists in random chats with our correspondent in Port Harcourt yesterday said the availability of petrol had made the celebration a pleasant one, and enjoined the products marketers to keep up the spirit, rather than hoarding the product during festive periods.
They commended the marketers for ensuring adequate supply of the commodity, stressing that the supply had eased difficulties motorists encounter in getting fuel.
According to them, the availability boosted socio-economic activities in the state, and they also lauded the authorities for their efforts in ensuring that the people of the state enjoyed blissful Easter celebration.
A private car owner, Peter Ekpenyong said he was delighted that the people of Rivers State did not experience fuel scarcity during the Easter period, as it coincided with the just-concluded presidential elections.
Ekpenyong hinted that he was able to visit friends and go about his business as there was fuel to drive his car.
Taiwo Olalekan in his comment said it is a good thing that no fuel scarcity during the Easter period, though he did not travel to his home town to visit his kits and kin, but was excited with the availability of fuel in the state.
Mrs Anita Promise, a female driver also expressed delight that there was fuel in all the filling stations in the state, and enjoined the authorities to ensure its sustenance for the interest of the masses.
A commercial bus driver, Chinedu Obi Christian noted with great delight that there was fuel for him to carry out his business during the period, explaining that he travelled home only on Sunday to attend the Easter service at his home in Abia State, and thanked God for everything.
Our correspondent gathered that no matter the period, a litre of petrol sold at N97.00 at most petrol stations of major marketers.
